Transform Your Day with these 5 Morning Hacks
Believe it or not, what you do before 9:00 AM does matter.
Starting your day right is an important step in setting your day up for success. If you put the effort into to starting your day well from the moment you open your eyes then you are most likely going to end the day even better, too.
Kicking off your day with healthy habits can make you feel and be more productive. Everyone is unique and there is no specific formula for you to follow.
It is important to create a morning routine that you can stick to. Take the time to sit down and assess your lifestyle, your likes and dislikes and how you can be your most productive self.
From there you can create a morning routine that is practical and productive for your lifestyle.
These 5-morning hacks can help you get into the right headspace and help set your day up for success – mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
1. Spend 10 minutes lying on your bed
Once the alarm goes, hit snooze. Yeah, you read that right! Hit snooze and lay in bed for 10 more minutes. Wake up but don’t get up just yet. You can split your time into prayer and visual planning.
For example, for the first 5 minutes, you can possibly put some music on and pray to God. For the next 5 minutes, you can begin to visualise how your day will look. This can help you see what you need to get done. Try to start getting your mind to work.
2. Make your bed and let the sunshine in
Once you get up from your bed, it’s important to make it! This is a great discipline to learn because your room will look much tidier and you get to come home to a clean bed!
After you make your bed, you can open your curtains and let the sunshine in. This helps you get used to the sunlight and helps wake you up a bit more.
3. Don’t grab that cup of coffee
The temptation to reach that cup of coffee first thing in the morning is strong but try to have a glass of water with a dash of lemon instead. This helps you get hydrated, cleanse your digestion and gives you a good amount of vitamins, too!
4. Resist the urge to touch your phone
Typically, people reach for their phones while their lying in bed and they begin to read emails, text messages or check Facebook. This can often lead to you feeling worried, stressed or anxious about the day when you haven’t even really started it yet.
5. Sit down and spend time with God
Spending time with God before your day is such an essential part of a truly successful day. God is the One that will carry us through the day and it’s important to delve into His word and speak to Him.
You can put some music on and sing along, you can read the Bible or find a bible study plan and study it. Meditate on His word, His promises and just remember what an amazing God we have and how He has and will continue to sustain you.
There is a peace that we can receive that goes beyond our own understanding.
These are small and simple hacks that you can incorporate into your routine. Go on and try it. See what a difference these small and seemingly “insignificant” tasks will make.
Start having more successful days, today!
